Our Founder and Managing Director, Sunny Li, has been on the ground driving installation progress and personally addressing technical challenges to ensure every customer enjoys a smooth and satisfying experience.

ABOUT ME – SUNNY LI

Many Aussie Solar Batteries customers have met me — whether through various solar forums, on-site visits, or technical support calls. I take great pride in achieving customer satisfaction and leading our team by example.

My journey in the renewable energy industry began nearly 20 years ago. I previously served as a senior management executive at SMA Solar Technology, a global leader in photovoltaic system technology headquartered in Germany, with over 4,000 employees across 20 countries. During that time, I developed extensive technical expertise — from product selection to installation of PV and battery systems — and I’ve applied that knowledge to build Aussie Solar Batteries into one of the most trusted solar battery providers in Australia.

WHY CHOOSE FOX ESS BATTERIES

The Fox ESS battery system holds the top market share in Germany, the UK, and Poland, although it was relatively unknown in Australia before July 2025. Fox ESS is renowned for its highly stable and well-engineered inverters and powerful modular battery systems, including single-stack setups capable of delivering up to 42 kWh of capacity.

The battery cells are produced by REPT (REPT BATTERO Energy), and the EQ4800 model supports over 6,000 charge/discharge cycles, demonstrating exceptional quality and reliability. Aussie Solar Batteries has entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with the Fox ESS Group and is now Australia’s largest Fox ESS distributor. My long-time friend, Michael Zhu, CEO of Fox ESS Group, has provided outstanding support — ensuring we have a consistent supply of stock and helping establish a 30-person local support team in Sydney and Melbourne to assist both installers and homeowners.

In a market where Fox ESS batteries are often in short supply, Aussie Solar Batteries is one of the few companies with secured, sufficient local stock — allowing us to maintain rapid installation progress and meet growing demand.

Customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Fox ESS batteries are now regarded as

being on par with top global home battery brands such as Sungrow, SIG, and Tesla.

CHALLENGES AND OUR RESPONSES

As we continue to expand installations nationwide, our team works closely with nearly 100 installers across Australia. Every home presents its own challenges — from unique electrical settings and PV system designs to meter box configurations and installation locations. We are proud to have achieved an outstanding 4.8-star Google Review rating, reflecting the satisfaction of our customers and the dedication of our team.

Below are a few real-life examples of technical issues we’ve encountered and how we resolved them swiftly.

Case 1 – Wollongong Customer’s Fox App Showing Abnormal Data

The customer’s system was charging, discharging, and feeding power into the grid normally, but the Fox Cloud app showed incorrect readings. I conducted an on-site audit on Saturday, 18 October. The batteries were installed 25 meters away from the meter box. The installer had run an extension cable but did not follow installation standards, causing unstable communication. I re-ran the cable properly, and the issue was resolved. The installer has been suspended until we are satisfied they can adhere to all procedures and standards.

Case 2 – Electrician Customer Complained About Wiring Neatness

This job required an external switch because the cable distance between the inverter and battery exceeded 2 meters. The customer — who is also a licensed electrician — was unhappy with the wiring management inside the external switch box. I personally attended the site and rewired everything neatly. The customer was fully satisfied.

Case 3 – Battery Was Not Discharging

A customer reported that their battery was not discharging. Upon inspection, I found the “Battery Reserve Capacity” was set to 100%, which prevents discharge under grid-connected mode. I adjusted it to 10%, and the battery began discharging immediately. The customer then charged their EV, and the charge power quickly reached 8 kW. The issue was resolved, and the customer was very happy.

Case 4 – CT (Current Transformer) Not Installed Correctly

The customer’s app showed a CT error. The CT is a critical device in solar systems that safely measures AC current and enables accurate energy monitoring, overload protection, and net metering. I visited the site the following morning and discovered that the installer had connected CT1 and CT2 communication cables to terminals 5/9/10/11 instead of 5/6/7/8. After rewiring correctly, the system began operating normally. While the installation was otherwise tidy, the installer was still suspended and scheduled for mandatory retraining.

Case 5 – Packaging Left Onsite

The customer complained that cardboard packaging was left behind after installation. I immediately contacted the installer, and the packaging was removed the very next day.

Introducing the HGNESS 51kWh Solar Battery
March 11, 2026
Massive Energy Storage at an Unusually Low Price A new large-capacity solar battery has arrived in Australia and it’s changing expectations for what homeowners can get from battery storage. Aussie Solar Batteries would like to introduce the HGNESS 51kWh modular battery system , paired with a three-phase hybrid inverter , delivering commercial-grade storage capacity for modern Australian homes. Even more surprising is the price. Complete HGNESS battery systems are now available from $5,500 , making it one of the most compelling price-to-capacity battery solutions currently available in the market. With government rebates and battery incentives changing from 1 May 2026 , homeowners considering battery storage may want to act soon before new rules take effect. Why Larger Solar Batteries Are Becoming More Popular Australia’s solar adoption has been incredibly successful, but many homes still export large amounts of unused solar energy back to the grid during the day. At the same time, electricity prices continue to rise while feed-in tariffs decline. This is why many households are now looking at larger battery systems that can store more solar energy for evening use. A typical Australian home can easily use 30–50kWh of electricity per day , particularly if it has: air conditioning electric hot water electric vehicle charging pool pumps larger households Traditional batteries in the 10–15kWh range often cannot cover an entire evening of usage. This is where large-capacity batteries like HGNESS become attractive . Meet the HGNESS 51kWh Modular Battery The HGNESS battery is a high-capacity lithium storage system designed to deliver serious energy storage for homes and small commercial applications. The system uses a modular stack design , allowing multiple lithium battery modules to be combined into a single tower capable of delivering over 51kWh of usable storage .
