The Australian Government has expanded its battery program, making home energy storage more accessible than ever. With updated rebates in effect
from 1 May 2026, system sizing matters more than ever. This calculator is based on a
28kWh battery, optimised for the current rebate structure to show you how much you could be saving each day.
Based on a typical Australian household:
25% of electricity is used during the day, 75% at night • Energy savings are calculated at a flat rate of $0.40 per kWh • Virtual Power Plant (VPP) benefits are included as a flat $1.75 per day
